Job Title: CAD Technician

The role is based at the Company’s head office in Toomebridge. The successful Applicant will become part of a dynamic, fast growing company.


He/ She will add value to the established CAD department and will have the opportunity for personal development whilst working for a Company which places particular emphasis on investment in its employees.


Main Duties/Activities:


  • Produce and design approval drawings for architects, clients and contractors in line with project specifications

  • Quantify and order materials for contractual items to be produced at Topglass

  • Produce production drawings, job sheets and cutting lists for Topglass production department

  • Produce production drawings for external suppliers

  • Compile drawing packages for site requirements

  • Liaise with other Topglass departments to ensure full knowledge of the requirements of the CAD technician for each contract

  • Produce ‘As Built’ drawing package for the client on contract completion

  • Travelling off site to work for a period of time as and when required to include carrying out site surveys and providing assistance at contract installation

  • All other duties as requested by management commensurate with the job title



Essential Criteria


  • Full AutoCAD capabilities to include use of Xrefs. Practical proof of level of competency will be required, if shortlisted for interview.

  • 5 years+ experience as a CAD technician

  • Good computer literacy Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent planning and organising skills

  • Previous experience onsite setting out or in a joinery / metal fabrication business.



Desirable Criteria


  • Previous CAD experience working for a construction/ manufacturing industry

  • Experience in curtain walling, planar and facade design
